The language problem
A student can know the math and still get blocked by the words.
Math language is unusually dense. A familiar word such as table, product, or volume can have a precise mathematical meaning, and a word problem can hide the operation inside unfamiliar syntax.
Simply translating the final answer does not teach the student how to interpret the next problem or communicate mathematical reasoning independently.
